I have created bootable USB using OCZ toolbox to update my RevoDrive3 X2. After boot from USB finished, I answer "Y" for update confirmation request, and update process drops me to linux command line immediately (see screenshot).
Hi I'm going to move some drives around and need to clone the operating system (W8.1) off the Revodrive 3 X2 to another drive.
Acronis true image 2014 doesn't work (in fact has done something to the MBR which leaves an warning message on boot). Clonezilla didn't recognise the Revodrive.
How should I go about cloning the operating system off?
I have been using a Revodrive3 x 2 480 for just under 1 year - this replaced a 1st generation Revodrive 480GB which failed under warranty.
My problem is that occasionally the drive will lock up resulting in multiple event id 129 'Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued.' These cause a partial lock up of my machine which contains other mechanical drives and which can only be cleared by a re-boot and on occasion a system reset.
I'm aware these problems may be related to me using an old version of the ocz10xxx driver, 1.3.6.17083. However, I have tried both newer versions of the driver on my system at various times and while it is not clear if they fix the described error they cause other issues which result in me reverting back to the original driver.
The problems with the new drivers are performance related. Both access times and throughput are significantly reduced when using the later drivers to the point that the Revodrive begins to perform like a mechanical drive! I can only get acceptable performance using the older driver but at the cost of occasional lock-ups. This behaviour is reproducible and measurable.
I just purchased a revodrive 3 last week and can not get windows to install on it. It will go through the entire process, reboot, then blue screen. Tried several different attempts while turning different options in bios on and off and no go. I have a revodrive 2 that I'v ehad for almost 4 years and had no issues installing windows on it. I cloned my old drive over and it seems to work, but am having some issues and had rather put a clean install of windows on this. It seems like a driver issue with me. Is there an older driver I can download somewhere? Any help would be appreciated. I am installing Windows 64b Ultimate, but also tried Home Premium. Motherboard is Gigabyte GA Assassin 1 with 24 gb Mushkin memory.
I am trying to enter a support ticket and do not have the required information. I have A RevoDrive 3 Series 240 GB per my invoice from amazon. This does not register as a valid part # on the support form. Also, it asks for the serial number. The board is installed in the computer - where is this number. I do not want to take apart the computer just to summit a ticket.

Good morning, I was wondering if any of you have run into a similar situation:
Machine I am attempting to add some Revo drives to is a Dell T7600. We're using the onboard SAS for a raid 0 off of some standard SSD drives. When we add the Revo drives to the machine, it disables the onboard SAS controller, and only lists the Revo drives as bootable. If possible I'd like to continue to use the onboard SAS controller to boot and the Revo drives as additional storage.
I do also have a support ticket with Dell in to see if there is a way to keep the SAS controller enabled, but it is looking like they dont / cant provide such an option.
I just wiped my drive to start fresh with my new gfx card. now when i try to install windows from usb using the latest driver i get a blue screen after restart. the stop code is 0x0000007B, when i start in safe mode it freezes and blue screens on drivers/disk.sys
all other drives were disconnected during the process
Hi, my REVODRIVE3 240gb don't run. The message is this: Error: Drive has been altered and in the next screen you can see 120gb instead of 240gb.... as you can see in the screen shot. If i try to install win7, when I load the drivers ocz, but nothing happen, my PC don't see the revo during win7 installation.
Hello, i have been using the revodrive 3 240gb for one year without one problem, but today i put it to sleep and had a bad recovery when i tried to bring it back then the system rebooted itself. Window aren't loading anymore. I dont know my BIOS or firmware versions, but i never updated anything.
I even tried to switch the PCI slot and remove one of my Graphics cards (760-SLI) but I still get the same result.
I noticed this recently but I also have problems automatically Booting from the RevoDrive3. Even though it's the primary device I have to enter bios and exit without changes to access Windows?
I was attempting to update the soundcard drivers on my PC, the installer uninstalled the old drivers, wanted a reboot before installing the new drivers, and now I can't get back into the system. It bluescreens just after the "Starting Windows" logo with a Stop: 0x0000007b
I've tried IDE and AHCI modes in the Bios with no joy.
I'm currently assuming that since the audio is on the motherboard the overzealous installer has uninstalled more drivers than it should have. Anyone got any ideas how I can get back into the system to replace them? I'd really rather not have to reinstall the OS if I can avoid it.
I have a RevoDrive 3 X2 480 and I am having an issue I can't resolve. The system seems to run fine as long as I am using it, but if I step away for a few minutes and when I come back, the system is locked up. But it is not completely locked up.
I can still use the Mouse and I can hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up the menu to select TaskMgr. But anything that goes to make a request to the HD will not work. If I try and run an application (like Task Manager) it will then lockup completely, only allowing the mouse to move and hit CTRL-ALT-DEL, but that is it. It's like the RevoDrive is locked up so any requests against it for data are not answered, but the rest of the system is working fine.
I have the latest BIOS and Drivers. I have tried a few tweaks on the forums, like setting the power management to not put the HD to sleep (Link State Power Management = OFF).
I have updated the motherboard drivers and BIOS. I am using a Gigabyte Z77X-UP7.
Another symptom is, after I hit reset and reboot the system sometimes when it gets to the point where it displays the RevoDrive's stats (Multiplier, speed, card BIOS info) the screen is fuzzy, like if you had a video card with bad memory and it was showing colored snow. I usually just hit the reset again and the next time it boots it's clean. That only occurs when it is displaying the RevoDrive, not the MB BIOS or when booting of inside the OS, nothing.
I have tried the card in multiple slots I have replaced the Motherboard and the video cards.
I am not sure what else to try, short of RMS'ing it and I have setup a support request with OCZ, but they are once again asking me for more information and I am not sure what else I can tell them other than what I just put. The thing stops responding several times a day after I step away for a few minutes, but only then. If I constantly use it all day and never leave, it never locks up, so it is something to do when the computer is inactive (meaning no user at the wheel).
Anyone have any suggestions while I wait for OCZ to see if they can help?
In an attempt to reinstall Windows 8.1, I set out to completely erase the OCZ RevoDrive 3 installed in my system using an method appropriate for NAND flash and solid state memory. Initially, I put OCZ Toolbox v.4.5.2.298 on a USB flash drive and ran the "Secure Erase" command. However, I wanted to be extra sure that it would wipe the entire drive.
I had previously read about the ATA "Enhanced Secure Erase" command and thought it would be a better option. According to the HDDErase.exe FAQ, "Secure erase overwrites all user data areas with binary zeroes. Enhanced secure erase writes predetermined data patterns (set by the manufacturer) to all user data areas, including sectors that are no longer in use due to reallocation."
Nevertheless, I erased the USB flash drive, reformatted it with PartedMagic and opened the "Disk Erasing 101" utility that features a variety of internal and external erase commands.

I selected "Internal: Secure Erase" and it gave me two options: ATA Secure Erase and ATA Enhanced Secure Erase. The utility said the OCZ RevoDrive 3 supports the latter option, so I initiated the command and rebooted...

I erased the USB flash drive one more time, reformatted it with OCZ Toolbox and rebooted, only to discover a "no supported drives found" message.

I'm going to assume that PartedMagic doesn't recognize the Virtualized Controller Architecture (VCA) on this drive, resulting in the disk not being recognized and not showing up anymore? If the drive supports Enhanced Secure Erase, then the command should have worked.
Unfortunately, the drive falls just outside of the 3-year manufacturer warranty (purchased in July 2011). I called OCZ technical support this afternoon and the representative said that even if the drive were still covered under warranty, OCZ would just send out a new drive rather than perform any repair or firmware reflash.
Let me know if there is anything that can be done before considered this PCI-E SSD bricked. Thank you.
About a year everything worked well. Windows 7 x64 will not boot. In the BIOS Revodrive3 determined normally. With the recovery disk drive not to see . Apparently, damaged boot area ? Where to start diagnosis ? Is it possible to restore the work so as to save the data ? Asus p6t deluxe v2, bios 1202.
